Interesting to see how the captured French invaders’ treatment compared with that of the Nonconformists. As you say, couldn’t happen in these enlightened times…
I also loved Thomas Davies’ rather less than enthusiastic response to the emergency.
Grand stuff. Do you think I could get away with your canny great aunt’s approach to supplementing her diet?
